Needle Felting is an age old art being brought back around the world. It is done with carded wool or sheep's fleece and a sharp felting needle. By punching the needle into the wool, you can sculpt the wool as you like, resulting in a soft sculpture. There is no stitching involved except for the embroidered features and the jointing. This is called dry felting and the sculpture is perfectly bonded. The wool can also be dyed various colors.

Each tiny Felted Folksie can take anywhere from three to four hours or up to a day to complete. Some take much longer depending on the detail involved. The bonnets are all handmade and made to fit that particular Felted Folksie. I like to use antique accessories to give them a vintage appeal. Since there is no pattern involved, each Original Felted Folksie is truly one-of-a-kind. I hope my little creations bring a smile to your face!
